us-hts-classifier

LLM agent that classifies to the HTSUS, grounded in schedule notes and CBP CROSS precedent; a prototype.

Demo

What it does

A TypeScript agent that classifies a product description to a 10-digit US HTS code using the official schedule, its section and chapter notes and CBP CROSS ruling precedent under the General Rules of Interpretation. It needs Node, a Postgres database and a paid OpenAI API key; the HTS data is downloaded from USITC. The README calls it a research prototype, not an oracle, after one run of 89 cases.

Where it fits on the map

Not on the map: a demo.

The map places maintained projects for a company tax department or a tax authority, without a demo or paid-service flag. Everything else stays on the list with its label.

Similar projects

Of the same kind, for a shared jurisdiction or tax area. Not a ranking.
