UK VATLab
Toolkit for modelling UK VAT policy.
What it does
Microsimulation of UK VAT reforms: it builds synthetic firm microdata calibrated to ONS and HMRC statistics, then estimates the revenue and distributional effects of reforms such as a higher threshold, sector split rates or a graduated threshold. It is a Python project with an interactive web tool for policymakers to design VAT policies. The firms are synthetic, and the README names no licence.
Licence unknown: we found no licence we could recognise. Check with the maintainers before you reuse the code.
