Step 2 of 4 · ProjectsTax engines
tariff-engine
Rule-based HS classification engine (AI at build time, deterministic at runtime) covering 20 chapters; on npm.
What it does
Returns six-digit HS code candidates with confidence and a reasoning path for a product description, from rules compiled from WCO Section and Chapter Notes beforehand; at runtime it needs no model and runs offline. An npm package with command line, library and browser modes. Covers 20 chapters; 76% chapter and 59% top-one heading accuracy on 144 tests, so low-confidence results need a review; MIT.
