HS-Code-Lookup-for-Customs
HS lookup traced to 177,000 CBP CROSS rulings behind a confidence gate; classifying needs model API keys.
What it does
Takes a product description and returns a 6-digit HS subheading with the published US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) rulings it leaned on, or withholds it below a confidence threshold. It needs Python 3.12 or later, a Groq or Mistral API key, a Qdrant index and a rulings corpus you rebuild from rulings.cbp.gov (the 790MB file is not distributed). The backtest step is still unchecked; MIT.
Where it fits on the map
Not on the map: a demo and needs a paid service.
The map places maintained projects for a company tax department or a tax authority, without a demo or paid-service flag. Everything else stays on the list with its label.
