harmonized_tariff
Ruby utility that converts the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule from hts.usitc.gov into JSON, SQL and XML.
What it does
A Ruby gem with an hts command that converts the delimited Harmonized Tariff Schedule file from hts.usitc.gov into JSON, XML, SQL or gzipped SQL, using the bundled source file or one you point it at. It installs with gem install harmonized_tariff and runs from the command line. The bundled source and the README's examples are the 2013 and 2012 editions of the schedule.
Where it fits on the map
Not on the map: inactive.
The map places maintained projects for a company tax department or a tax authority, without a demo or paid-service flag. Everything else stays on the list with its label.
