PHP component that checks EU VAT numbers against the European Commission's VIES service.
What it does
PHP component that queries the European Commission's VIES service over SOAP and returns a VAT number's validity, the request date and, where given, the company name and address, plus a heartbeat check. Install with Composer; needs PHP 7.3 or later and the soap, pcntl and ctype extensions. UK numbers are no longer validated, except Northern Ireland (XI); Greece uses EL.
