vies-checker
TypeScript validator for EU VAT numbers using the European Commission's VIES service.
What it does
Takes an EU country code and a VAT number, normalises spaces, dashes and case, and queries the European Commission's VIES service, returning whether the number is valid plus the company name, address and request date. It is a TypeScript package with zero dependencies that needs Node.js 18 or later. The older isValid() function is deprecated in favour of checkVAT(); MIT licence.
