VAT number validator with GUI, CLI and REST API for German, EU, UK and Swiss checks.
What it does
Checks VAT numbers against four official interfaces: the German BZSt API, the EU's VIES, HMRC for the UK and the Swiss UID register, singly or in batches from CSV, XLSX or JSON files. It is a Python tool with a desktop app for office use, a command line for scripting and a REST API for your own applications. It notes the old BZSt interface shut down in 2026 and the new API is supported; GPL 3.0.
