Magento 2 module that validates VAT numbers by API, with an offline regex fallback for VIES outages.
What it does
Magento 2 module that replaces Magento's built-in VAT check with the European Commission's VIES endpoint, then vatlayer.com, then an offline regex check for 24 countries, caching results; it also adds a console command and a REST endpoint for company lookup by VAT number. It needs Magento 2.2 to 2.4 and PHP 7.0 or later. The repository is archived, and the free VIES APIs can slow the checkout.
