vies-client (LGx0)
Zero-dependency Java client for validating EU VAT numbers through the VIES REST API.
What it does
Java client that checks an EU VAT number against the European Commission's VIES REST API and returns Valid (with the trader's name and address), Invalid, Unavailable or MalformedInput. It needs Java 21 or later and nothing else, for embedding in any Java service. It is not an official EU product or a tax calculator, and Unavailable means VIES gave no decision, not that the number is invalid.
