PolicyEngine TAXSIM
TAXSIM emulator built on PolicyEngine's US federal and state tax calculator.
What it does
Runs a CSV of households in the TAXSIM-35 input format through PolicyEngine's US federal and state tax calculator and returns TAXSIM-style outputs (income tax, FICA, credits, AMT), plus a compare command. A Python command-line tool installed with uv; native TAXSIM runs need the TAXSIM-35 executable. Years before 2021 route to TAXSIM35; the README lists known state differences.
